I'm still thinking if I should sell the EOS 1100D I won in a photo contest. My dad said I shouldn't, but I'm afraid it'll depreciate with time as new models are released in the market. I have my trusty 500D (gift from my dad for doing well in A Levels) which I'll probably keep for a long time. After all, I don't have much use for another DSLR and it's just sitting in my cabinet (not even a dry-cabi at that!) looking pretty... neglected. Hmmm...

I never liked to torment my followers with my inane journal entries but I felt that this particular one was imperative.

I think 2010 was an extremely dark year for me. The nightmares ranged from persuading my boss not to sue me and battle it out in court, to confiding in a counselor about my vivid suicidal thoughts which totally didn't work out, but that's not the point. Upon a period of deep reflection, everyone has their own problems. Regardless of how big or small they are, life has to go on. You still have to stand in that jam-packed bus with strangers towering over you while you inhale their unforgivable stench, or sit beside that pimply obese girl who would pester you to no end in class, or skim through your tumblr dashboard as though you don't give a bloody damn about homework and the world. You know. Life just trickles on like that.

But let's put that aside for a while. Looking back, I have come a long way in honing my photography skills. I guess this year was one thoroughly imbued with photography because (a), I got my first ever personal DSLR (= no more loaning of bodies!) in accordance with my 'A' Level results; (b), I felt that my skills improved exponentially and (c), I delved into 2 new genres of photography - photojournalism and fashion photography.

The 'it' in my title is open to interpretation, but I use it lazily to encapsulate everything that has been going on in my life. I might liken 'it' to 2010.

Argh, another incoherent post. Told you my entries are inane.

Till then!

... is not going too smoothly.

Those were the times when I was still in junior college, lamenting high and low. The bulging files, the endless timed-trials, the thoughts of breaking free from the rigid education system. (This statement is pretty ironic since I am already bonded to the Ministry of Education, but that's not the point.) I was trapped in a vicious cycle of study and sleep. I wanted, so bad, to start the supposedly refreshing college life everyone talked about.

So now I'm here to tell you this: it's all a bloody scam. College has NEVER been easy. Screw those who claimed that it's better than being in a JC. No, no, no, you're ficking wrong.

My dreams get longer, day by day. Sometimes they are testing the edges of the limbo in parallel worlds. I fall, and never wake up.

It is the best way to die.

Goodness... It just dawned on me that I've not posted anything in my journal for 11 months! Looking back at 2009, here's a quick summary for each month:

January: Rushing thru my G-quad research at NTU for SSEF, a national research competition. OMG I remember taking the MRT from Pasir Ris to Boon Lay, and doing my Alkenes/Arenes mindmap along the way! HEY IT RHYMES. It was just so totally grueling, challenging and stressful. Eventually I didn't win any prize or whatsoever but I'm thankful to my school and mentors for giving me this blessed opportunity. :)

February: It was quite a random month- there was the traditional 'Angel and Mortal' game in JCs, a fieldtrip to the Raffles Museum of Biodiversity Research in NUS AND WORLD MATH DAY! :) :D  Which I got first for, plus a pretty box of chocolates from my civics tutor. Although they have expired since September, I still keep them!

March: What else but March Block Tests (MBTs)? The month saw me studying (and skipping) chapter after chapter. My grades weren't that awesome but they weren't shitty, either. Oh and the photog club has a new, larger clubroom with a pullout studio backdrop just say wow plz.

April: Probably one of the more packed months this year! Research symposium, release of PW results (which I've gotten an 'A' for), J1 photog rally, Honny's birthday, AAPT contest, my London trip which was unfortunately canceled due to the impending H1N1 outbreak... *catches breath*

May: Had my last Bio practical for the year, which includes transforming bacteria and viewing them under UV light. Photog shoots with J2s and TICs. Fashion photographer for ManjaGirl. Colosseum! Playing cards with my Gambling Gang and haha the race between Mr Max and Mr LP was epic.

June: Another mugger month before the Mid Year Exams (MYE). Anyway, Photog won the Yip Hoi Kee School Challenge shield for 2 consecutive years! Words just couldn't describe how proud I was for photog at that time. Oh and... MJ's death.

July: Top 100 in AAPT. Plus NAPFA WTH. 'Nuff said.

August: A 'first-time' month. National Day this year was special to me. I actually teared while reciting the pledge at 8:22 PM. Like that was the first time I truly felt so emotional and patriotic. I promised myself I would never forget my roots as a Singaporean, wherever I may go. Also, I climbed the school gate for the first time on the 20th of August. Love the adrenaline rush yo!

September: Oh my Prelims. I spent dunno how many freaking nights in MJ studying with my study partners, namely Hui Teng and Soon Siang. I climbed the school gate again wahaha lovely. Other than that it was merely plain studying, studying, AND studying!!! My prelim results weren't too bad after all!

October: Sad memories...

November: 'A' Levels, which also marks the end of my JC journey! Well, almost! By that time I was super drained from mugging excessively and I was desensitised to a lot of things revolving around my life. OK, but now I'm chipper and relaxed... More like slack! Haha.

December: 'A' Levels are finally over! Frankly speaking, I've been slacking every single day since I'm only resuming my Uni studies in August! Well, I've also been studying for my driving tests and giving tuition to my brother and cousin. A very unfruitful month compared to the earlier months, I should say!

So that concludes 2009 for me. How's yours?
I'd love to hear it!

I'm not sure if I can distinguish my wants from needs. Everywhere I go, I wished I had a DSLR. I want to capture pretty little sights. I want to share them with the rest of the world. I want to live my passion. I want to do all these.

But is there a need to?
  • Eating: Leftover pasta
I have A WHOLE LOT OF Deviations to submit.
But then again, I don't want to flood your inbox.

Plus, if you tell me to pick my best ones, then I'd say that there are about 100+ in total...

See? This is the painful truth of procrastination.

1. I haven't updated in a long time? Obvious, isn't it.
2. I abhor da lovelayy Lopezzz. :pissedoff:
3. Rates of Change + Approximation (Differentiation) spring test tomorrow... and I don't know why, seriously.

Damn Lopez. She's constantly sapping the remains of my pathetique life. :( What is wrong with her anyway. Have any of you Deviants here ever encountered such a coercive teacher in your lives? I'm not saying that this is the last straw, but... what will she say to my mum during MTP /TPC? Shucks.

Oh yes. Enough of the DA feature, it's stuck at 3 comments. -.- However, if you feel like commenting or whatever, you may do so! :) Anyway I'm going to play baddy [short-term for badminton] with Jace and presumably, Jones, Jesmine and my father! :D I'm playing at my uncle's place. That's where I'll see the lovable Sidney too.

Hmm... my table was also swamped with V-Day goodies. You name it- chocolates, candies, lollipops, crackers, wafers [thanks :iconpowerofsong: LOL ;P], whatever. No flowers though, although I really wanted one. :/ Oh well. One rose stalk costs SGD$2!! That's amazingly expensive, and it's going to die sooner or later anyway. Sheeshness.

I told Deady I wanted Osmanthus, if not Ixora, if not, a simple Carnation will do. And :iconxxzephrisxx: had to bug in: "Isn't Carnations for mothers or something?" Oh yeah, right. And yellow roses are for couples who want to break up.

But hey, that's true.

Okay on a lighter note... I've been selected for the debate! :aww: The fact is, I really can't speak that well, contrary to the impressions of others. Anyways, I'll try my best! >:] And errr, bring glory to our class? Marissa's undoubtedly good. She's damn fluent in English, she's also articulate and can bring out her points clearly. Me? ...Um. Shall spare you the agony, er, I mean details.

CNY- I'll just gorge myself with goodies for a few days. The total price of the traditional snacks can cost up to as much as SGD$200+!! Methinks the hamper is much more expensive. Plus, my parents had to segregate the money into hongbaos [red packets], probably adding up to a few hundreds in total. What a costly weekend! >.<

Oh yes. If you would bychance glance at the Eating: and Drinking: section above my entry, it's true that I've been pigging out even before CNY has even started. Nahhh I'm not worried about my weight or my continuous flow of insulin, and obviously not my testosterone level! :O

On a really, TRULY lighter note, I'm going to submit a new Deviation- soon!
Literature-based [poetry], I think.

GWAHHH the debate.
I've got this sinking feeling that it's gonna be so screwed. X_x It's next Wednesday. Where Bio SPA, coincidentally, falls on that day. And coincidentally, AGAIN, a 3.5-hour choir practice. Next Wednesday, next Wednesday. Be prepared for a tight, hectic schedule.

Shall organise my plans for next week (in chronological order):
Monday- Literature screening- Much Ado About Nothing (2.15)
Tuesday- Sports Heats [(Shot Put (oh yes; -.-ll)] (2.30)
Wednesday- Bio SPA (7.50), Debate (2.15 perhaps?), Amaths Remedial (if the debate finishes earlier than 3.30) and choir (2.30 /3.30? *Refers to timetable*)
Tuesday- MY ONLY FREE DAYYYY *patriotic music plays in the background*
Friday- Sigh; choir (1.30)

Bullet-train time!

The 3 Deviations I've chosen are purely Literature, Literature, Literature. I've read most of her works, and my, they are SO beautiful. :tears: *Wipes tear from eye* I loved the 3rd Deviation [that I've featured here] most. Although I didn't fave it... 'cos I thought it was too short or something. I wonder where she got her inspiration from? I'm currently inspiration-dry!

It was originally 10 comments, but I do not have many friends in DA, hence the measly 5. :| ...Sigh. Next year's going to be really tough on me. Congrats to :iconmagical224:, she has just completed her exams, and currently on a vacation in WI. Nah, I'm not infuriated or whatever. Just 11 more months to go. Wow. As if that would ever happen. Hmm... I shall donate half of my fortune to charity and the rest, *smirks* hehhehheh. :)

17. Tell me something about you that I don't know.
I used to communicate with plants. Does that explains why I love them?

18. If you could change one thing about the world, regardless of guilt or politics, what would you do?
The list is endless. World peace is prior to the beginning of a secure era.

19.Do you like to dance?
*points to DeviantID* :|

20. George Bush:
Isn't he that asshole guy who visited Singapore a few weeks ago?

21. Imagine your first child is a girl, what would you name her?
I never thought of giving birth. Serious. But maybe... Haley? Sounds simple and neat.

22. Imagine your first child is a boy, what would you name him?
Urrrr, Keano?

23. Would you ever consider living abroad?
AUSTRALIA! JAPAN! KOREA! ...I hate Korean and Japanese food actually. :P

24. What do you want God to say when you reach the pearly white gates?
"P-p-pearly white gates"?! Yeah right. More like 'the gates of eternal fire'. Remember to burn me hell notes. Lots of 'em.

25. 6 people who must also do this in THEIR journal:

Well the title is long, isn't it. :P Haven't penned this down in my diary/blog yet, but soon... I hope. It is so darn intriguing. Even though it was purely free labour (means no pay, no income, no allowance, not even a pinch of CIP hours [aww darn that A1, anyway I got it mwaha.]) okay. :( But nevermind! Tomorrow's the last day and I'm telling myself to persevere 'till the end. GO KM!! :D

The first two days weren't interesting at all. It's just some bullshit arts&crafts&nuthin'else. Boring yes. Interesting, that'll come later. The hospital is actually a 'wonderful' place, where I got to meet Mr Yap (wife?), the President and... *drumroll*... a psycho. I'm not surprised, actually. :| But he's really a psychopath. Maybe HIV infected. What the hell.

3rd day, still did arts&crafts. Turned out to be much, much better, but I had to swap jobs with the others (Rashma and Harshini) for the pharmacy job. :XD: It was a different job, where I got to pack medicine and learn new stuff, for example, Perazodin is for people suffering from strokes and Peptomet is for bloatedness. The names were scientific sounding so I took the initiative to take down everything Miss/Mrs/Mdm Lee, the female pharmacist explained. It's also Maxine's present!!

Can't wait for tomorrow, seriously. I've to hit the sheets early, too, it's already 10.08PM. Good night everyone! =P

Been to East Coast Park @ approximately 6.00 am yesterday. Wanted to take a photo of the beautiful sunrise I've been yearning for years. :aww:

It's awesome, trust me. Shall wait for a decent time to post it online via DeviantArt. :D Oh oh yea I know Izzy's (Sis PP's goddaughter, would like to meet her one day! :) ) and Uncle Robert's DeviantArt profile pages! :muahaha:

I'm going to go zZZ over the holidays.
I need my beauty sleep too! :thanks:
